About Us
Park Center isn't your typical art school. We're a bunch of people who think drawing and painting and sculpting actually matter in the real world. Started with 23 students in a cramped studio, we've grown into something we're genuinely proud of. Our whole thing? Teaching art like it's meant to be learned — messy, spontaneous, and way more fun than you'd expect. We've got 47 instructors who still make art themselves. (They're not just teaching from textbooks.) The walls here are constantly changing because our students are constantly creating. And yeah, we break probably three paintbrush holders per semester.
Over time, we’ve built a reputation for reliability, quality, and clear communication. We treat each project as a partnership and aim for outcomes that last.
Our Approach
Our approach combines proven methods with modern tools. We start with discovery, align on goals, plan clearly, and execute with quality checks at every step.
Our Core Values
The principles that guide everything we do
Technique Meets Honesty
We teach you how to actually do this stuff. But we don't care if your work looks like the masters. We care if it looks like you.
Show Up and Do the Work
There's no shortcut to being an artist. No magic formula. Just consistent practice and instructors who won't let you phone it in.
Creativity Over Comfort
We'll push you into uncomfortable territory. That's where growth lives. That's where interesting art comes from too.
Community That Actually Works
Your classmates matter. Peer feedback matters. We're all in this together, which sounds cheesy but it actually changes how you develop as an artist.
Meet Our Team
The people behind Park Center
We’re a team that values ownership, clarity, and growth. We celebrate wins, learn fast, and keep client outcomes at the center.
Elena Popescu
Director & Painting Instructor
Studied at National University of Arts. Taught here for 11 years. Still exhibits her own work in Bucharest galleries. Drinks espresso obsessively. Makes you better because she's better.
Mihai Constantinescu
Sculpture & 3D Arts Lead
Former metalworker turned artist turned teacher. His studio sculptures have been commissioned for three public installations. Believes marble dust on your clothes means you're learning something.
Anca Drăgan
Digital Arts & Design Instructor
Graphic designer who realized she needed to teach foundational art first. Runs the digital lab. Can argue convincingly that digital art is actually harder than traditional media.
Our Story
We opened in 2011 when three instructors got tired of teaching in institutions that didn't get what they were doing. Rented a space near the park. Bought a lot of easels. Recruited students through pure word-of-mouth because we couldn't afford marketing. By year three, we were packed. Moved twice. Built our ceramics studio in 2017. Added digital arts in 2019 when we realized the world wasn't going back to entirely analog. Still small. Still hands-on. Still the same mission — making real artists, not processing students.
